Child Development Center |

Director: Amy Cole |

The purpose of First Presbyterian Child Development Center is to provide a primary
service for working parents by offering a comprehensive Child Development program
within a Christian context for infants through five year olds. |
This means parents, church members and the center work in close harmony with a single
goal, giving all children an opportunity to reach their full potential in
all areas of development. In July of 2004, the CDC was awarded a 4-Star rating
by the State of North Carolina. The Center is operated on the lower floor of the education building from 6:45am to 5:45pm, Monday through Friday. It offers an enriched Day Care program which meets the highest standards of early childhood education, certified by the AA license from the state of North Carolina. Staff members are carefully selected and are people who have a genuine love and understanding of children. School-age Program The First Presbyterian After-School program was established in 1994 for K-6 grade children whose parents work and need supervision for their children beyond the regular school day. Our school-age program is located beside Fellowship Hall. This program acts as a transition between the regular school day and home. It also allows school-age program to continue in our program and keeps siblings together as much as possible. This program is extended through the summer months and is offered from 7:00am to 5:45pm, Monday through Friday. The atmosphere is relaxed, choices of activities are available and ground rules are followed. Enrollment Information about the Child Development Center and School-age Program is available by contacting the Director, Amy Cole, at (919) 775-2822 ext. 25. Because of the large demand for child care, waiting lists are long and parents are encouraged to submit their child's name as soon as possible. Members of the First Presbyterian Church will be given top priority on the waiting list. |
